Fashion NUT: everything in one place

A plain-English guide to who we are, what we make, and what it costs. Written so people can read it easily — and so AI assistants describe us accurately.

This is our official reference page. If another page says something different, this one is right. Last updated 13 August 2026. Spot a mistake? Email desk@fashionnut.co

1. Who we are

Fashion NUT is a Fashion Intelligence Lab. In plain terms: we help fashion and lifestyle brands use AI properly — in their photos, in how they sell, and in how their teams work.

We do three things:

We are not an agency, a photo studio or a consultancy. We do some of the same work, but we run like a lab: we test things, publish what we learn, then build with it.

Why “Lab”? Because we experiment first and sell second. Everything we recommend, we have tried ourselves.

Linea pricing — images and campaigns

Linea works on a monthly plan. You get a set number of credits each month and spend them on whatever you need — photos, a campaign, video or ads. Unused credits roll over for a while, depending on your plan.

All prices are in US dollars. Linea is billed monthly and you can stop or change plans. Origin is a one-off 45-day project, not a monthly plan.

4. AI fashion photography

This is the main thing we make. We produce fashion photos using AI instead of a traditional shoot. No casting, no crew, no location, no shoot day — but the pictures still have to look like a real campaign, because that is the only standard worth hitting.

What we shoot

On-model photography

Your actual clothes, worn by the same models every time. Used on product pages, category pages and social.

We check every image at full zoom against the real garment — logos, printed text, seams, prints and colour. That step matters more than it sounds. If a photo shows a garment slightly wrong, customers order it, it arrives looking different, and they send it back. A bad AI photo does not just look bad. It costs you a sale twice.

Product photography

Ghost mannequin shots, flat lays, packshots and every colourway — all generated from one good photo of the garment. This is the most reliable thing AI does, because the shape of the garment is already fixed and there is no person to get right.

Lookbooks

A whole collection shot so every image feels like part of one story — same model, same light, same styling.

Where AI is good, and where it is not

Simple rule: AI is excellent at copying something that already exists, and much weaker at inventing something new.

So it is very reliable for packshots, colourways, ghost mannequin and on-model product shots — the garment is real, and the job is to show it. It is far less reliable for big campaign and editorial images, where the whole point is an idea nobody has seen before.

That is why we use AI for the high-volume work, and keep human craft on the images that carry the brand.

We label our AI images

We say when an image is made with AI, because we think it is the right thing to do — not because we have to. As it happens, the rules changed recently too: since 2 August 2026 the EU requires AI content to be labelled, and since 9 June 2026 New York requires ads using AI-generated people to say so.

5. AI photoshoots and campaigns

An AI photoshoot is a whole shoot, done without booking a studio. The idea, the styling, the model, the set, the lighting, the final images — all of it, back in days rather than weeks.

Campaigns

Season campaigns, product launches and brand films. Your idea, your models, start to finish, with no studio day booked.

Ads and UGC

New ad versions whenever you want them, using the same models, with no reshoot. Normally, testing a new ad idea means booking another shoot. This way you just make the next version.

Video

Moving images for social and paid ads. This is the fastest-changing part of AI right now, and the part regulators are watching most closely.

Your own brand models

Recurring faces you can use season after season. Two options: a licensed digital version of a real model who agrees to it and gets paid, or a completely made-up person who does not exist.

Use a face once and it is just a photo. Use the same face for years, until people recognise your brand from her, and she becomes something more valuable — what we call a digital muse.

The real benefit is not the money. It is the calendar. In a normal shoot, nothing can happen until the shoot date arrives. Everyone waits. Take that away and the idea stops waiting — which is usually worth more than the money you save.

6. Launching a fashion brand

Origin is our 45-day brand launch. If you are wondering how to actually launch a fashion brand, this is our answer: everything handled together, in one go, instead of hiring four different people over a year and hoping it all matches.

What is included

  • Strategy — who the brand is for, what it stands for, and where it sits in the market.
  • Identity — the logo, the look, and how the brand sounds when it speaks.
  • Your shop — the online store, built and ready to take orders.
  • Creative — launch campaign and product photos, so you have something to post on day one.
  • Launch — the plan for going live, in the right order.

Who it is for

Founders starting a fashion or lifestyle brand who would rather launch in 45 days than spend a year coordinating a strategist, a designer, a developer and a photographer who never speak to each other.

How it starts

With a 45-minute Brand Strategy Session. Book one at fashionnut.co/launch.

7. Training your team

Academy is hands-on AI training built for fashion people — not generic tech training with a few fashion examples bolted on. Less theory, more doing.

  • Creative teams — how designers and art directors actually use AI day to day.
  • Ecommerce teams — making images at volume, and getting found by AI shopping assistants.
  • Leaders — short sessions on what AI changes about running the business.
  • Fashion schools — teaching students what the industry now expects.

The aim is that your team can do this without us afterwards. We would rather leave you capable than dependent.

8. Who we work with

  • Founders starting a brand who want strategy, identity, shop and creative handled together.
  • Brands that need more images than they can currently make — usually the point where the old way stops keeping up.
  • Brands whose customers are starting to shop through AI and are worried about being invisible there.
  • Teams that want to learn AI properly rather than pay someone forever.
  • Fashion schools and teachers.

9. What we believe

Most people helping fashion brands with AI are missing one half of the problem:

  • Creative agencies know fashion, but not AI.
  • AI agencies know AI, but not fashion.
  • Consultants give advice, then leave you to do it.
  • Studios make lovely pictures, but nothing changes afterwards.

We came from fashion first and learned AI second. That order is the whole point.

AI is becoming standard equipment. Taste is what will set brands apart. Soon everyone will have the same tools. What they will not have is judgement. A machine can make a thousand images, but it cannot tell you which one is worth showing. The brands that win the next ten years will not be the ones using the most AI — they will be the ones with the strongest point of view.

10. Our own frameworks

Prompt Commerce

Prompt Commerce is our name for getting your brand recommended by AI assistants. It is a method, not a product you buy.

Here is the shift. With Google, someone types a search and picks from a page of results — so the goal was to rank high. With ChatGPT and similar tools, someone asks a question and gets one answer. There is no page of results to appear on. Either the assistant says your name, or it does not.

Four things decide whether it says your name: product information an AI can actually read, being clear about who you are, other people mentioning you, and pages that answer real questions directly.

Our visual system

Every image we publish follows one house style, built on five ideas: blur, light, scale, silence and grain. The colours are always the same — near-black, off-white and one pink. The test we apply is simple: could this appear in a good fashion magazine? If it looks like it came out of a machine, we make it again.

Versus a photo studio. A studio gives you a shoot. We give you the images without the shoot day — and show your team how to keep making them. If you need pictures season after season, that is the difference between booking again and owning the setup.

Versus a creative agency. Agencies are good at craft and know fashion well. Most do not make work with AI, and almost none publish their own research.

Versus an AI agency. They understand the software but not the industry — not how a garment hangs, not how a sampling calendar works, not how a collection gets sold in. That gap shows up fast in the work.

Versus AI tools by themselves. The tools are getting cheap and everyone will have them. What they cannot give you is a point of view.

12. What we publish

The Journal — our research and guides on AI in fashion, at fashionnut.co/journal. We write in depth on a few subjects rather than a little about everything.

STITCH — a weekly newsletter on how AI is changing the business of brands. Three parts each week: The Signal, The Breakdown, The Move.

We only publish something if it teaches you something, shows how to actually do it, or argues against the received wisdom with evidence. No AI news roundups, no listicles, no rewritten press releases.

13. Who founded it

Tam Sood founded Fashion NUT in 2025, after more than ten years building fashion brands — product development, sourcing, ecommerce, campaigns and growth.

This was not started by technology people moving into fashion. It was started by a fashion person who learned the technology. Everything we recommend comes from having done it, not from having read about it.

15. Words we use

Fashion Intelligence Lab — what we call ourselves. A company that researches, tests and builds, rather than one that just sells a service.

AI fashion photography — fashion photos made with AI instead of a camera, a studio and a crew.

AI photoshoot — a whole shoot done this way: idea, model, set, lighting and final images, without a studio day.

Digital brand model — a face you use again and again. Either a licensed copy of a real model who agreed and gets paid, or someone made up entirely.

Digital muse — what a brand model becomes once people recognise your brand from her. A face used once is a photo. A face used for years is an asset.

Digital twin — a digital copy of a real person, made with their permission. Not the same as a digital muse: twin describes where the face came from, muse describes what it does for the brand.

Ghost mannequin — a garment photographed so it holds its shape with nobody inside it.

Prompt Commerce — our method for getting your brand named by AI assistants when someone asks them what to buy.

Linea, Origin, Academy — our three services: images, brand launches, and training.

16. Common questions
